Must read! How a senior colleague stole my brand new Motorola razor phone plugged in her care😀

Over 10 years ago, while I was still a student at the prestigious Benue State University College of Health Science (BSU CHS), precisely at the beginning of my 200 level, I resumed with a bit excess money after paying my tuition, I decided to upgrade by buying a brand new Motorola Razr, it cost me #38,000 🙄 at Kastina - ala street Makurdi, I then uploaded music and videos at Railway, opposite Tito gate at the sum of #2,000. Then #40,000 was a whole lot of money to splash on a phone 💰.

I decided to fully charge the phone 📱as recommended by the manufacturer, due to break down of the transformer that supplied electricity to where I lived at that time (opposite NKST Gboko Rd.), I opted for Benue State University College of Health Science Makurdi where they enjoy relatively 24/7 electricity and power supplied by alternative source (Mikano Generator) at night (from 7pm - 10pm).

I went to BSU CHS at about 7pm, precisely in Hall B I met few senior colleagues, I spoke to one of them, the one that was closest to me (female) 🚺, I told her "(Name withheld), I got this new phone today and have not charged it to the recommended capacity, please can I plug it here in front of you so you can help watch over it for me? When it's fully charged please help me unplug it, I will pick it up by 10pm. She smiled as usual and said OK no problem.

I plugged and left, I returned by 10pm, met her and other senior colleagues, then the power supply had gone off, I asked her about the phone, she calmly asked me to check where i plugged it, I checked and behold my charger was plugged to the socket, note that she was sitting at the front seat and the socket was just in front of her, on the elevated stage where lecturers stand to deliver lectures. I returned to her with the brand new charger and told her that the charger was plugged but the phone was not.

She replied by saying she didn't carry the phone when they offed the generator 🙄, that i should ask other colleagues and check around. I did but no one admitted to carrying my brand new phone (my almighty Motorola Razr 😭).

I was advised by other senior colleagues present to report to the CHS security unit, which she accompanied me to, the security personnel accompanied us to the class, asked everyone present but no one admitted, they checked around the class and the flowers but all to no avail, it was then it downed on me that I just lost a Brand New Phone, a phone i had not even browse through, a phone that i don't even know how the applications looked like, I just wasted a whooping #40,000 😭😭😭.

My dear senior colleague that i kept the phone under her care was the last person I could suspect, obviously because she was too good to take my phone, she was to flashy to be a thief, we were quite close for her to steal from me, phones were not her problem, she was too connected to lack anything.

I asked her if she saw anyone around where I plugged the phone and this was her response.

"No, I went to the hostel shortly after you plugged the phone, believing that no one will touch the phone and knowing that some of my mates were still reading in class, though I never asked anyone to look after the phone for me, my bad, the generator went off before 10pm, then I was on my way from the hostel".

I believed her and decided to let go and move on, I jobbed my Dad 😂, got small money and bought a small phone to keep contact.

Few years later when I became a full fledged student in CHS and probably became friends with almost everyone, one of the senior colleagues present in class that fateful night when my phone was stolen called me to the room, sat me down and told me that "this same person you are very closed to was the one that stole your phone that night, same person you plugged your phone in her care"

The funniest part of it was that the person was using the same phone as of that time, in fact it was the person's phone that inspired me to buy mine. "Hello Moto" 😂😂😂.

I never confronted her but was careful on my dealings with her.

MORAL OF THE STORY:
1. Trust people but not completely shutting your heart towards stories about them.

2. Trust people but not completely entrusting them with your treasures.

3. Trust but never believe that same people are not capable of hurting

4. Trust but always know that almost everything has a price.

5. Never believe that if you keep a bone with a dog it will safe guard it for you, the dog will eat it and nothing will happen.

6. Above all, never expect People to treat you the same way you would treat them, so you avoid disappointments.

This Story may not be about the phone but the betrayed trust.
