North Cyprus marks 45th anniversary of Turkey's Peace Operation in Cyprus (Photos & videos)
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on Saturday, July 20, held events across the country to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the 20th of July Peace Operation.
45 years ago, Turkish forces landed at Girne and parachuted just
outside of Lefkoşa as part of an operation to defend Turkish Cypriots from
annihilation.
March pass and military parades took place at the Dr Fazıl Küçük Boulevard at 10:30am.
Turkey was represented at the event by Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay.
