One more person detained in connection with the murder of Obasanjo

The police have arrested and detained one more person in connection with the murder of Nigerian, student, Obasanjo Adeola Owoyale who was found dead in the trunk of a car on July, 8 in Lefkosa, north Cyprus.

The body of Obasanjo, 33 was found rapped in a blanket inside a car boot parked in an open area near a school in Lefkosa on Monday, July, 8, 8 days after he was declared missing. 

An autopsy result showed that he died of brain injury.

Following the incident, 11 people were arrested in an early morning raid on Thursday, July, 11 on an apartment about 200 meters from where the car was found.

They were taken to court on Friday, July, 12 and Monday, July 15 and will appear in court again on Monday, July 22 as police continue investigation into the incident. 

Police prosecutors said they have so far collected more than 38 statements and also sent crime scene exhibit to Turkey for analysis.  

A girl who is believed to have entered the apartment on the day the murder was committed was arrested on Tuesday, July, 16 and detained for two days on court order.

Investigation continues.
