Foreigner who tried to exit the TRNC using a forged ID, sentenced to six months in prison

An African who was arrested for attempting to leave the TRNC with a false identity has been sentenced to six month in prison by a Lefkosa court.

The accused who was arrested earlier this year while trying to exit the country at Ercan Airport with fake identity, was sentenced to 6 months in prison by a court in Lefkosa on Thursday.

Judge Temay Sager, who read the verdict, emphasized the seriousness of the crimes committed by the accused.

Sager said the defendant had another file in which he committed similar crimes.

Sager said the defendant was being judged against fooling state officials. 

The judge noted that the defendant accepted his guilt and delivered judgement in his favor due to the defendant's early contribution to justice. 

Touching on all the issues, the judge sentenced the defendant to six months in prison sentence.
