Two men trying to enter south of Cyprus illegally from north Cyprus caught by soldiers

Two men trying to sneak into the south of Cyprus from north Cyprus illegally were caught red-handed by soldiers guiding the area.

The two people identified only as T.K and E.C were caught by soldiers at the Yigitler Burcu region in Lefkosa at about 12:10am on Saturday.

The suspects voluntarily testified and admitted that they were trying to go to the south of Cyprus to work.

Police said they had passed through the same place before.

The suspects told the police that they were poor and had dependent families and demanded that they be sent back to their countries.

They were taken to a Lefkosa court and detained for days.
