15 villages placed under quarantine in North Cyprus

15 villages in Northern Cyprus have been placed on quarantine for one week on the order of the TRNC quarantine center on Thursday evening after a resident in the region test positive for Covid-19.

The seven villages affected are Ziyamet, Balalan, Esenköy, Yeşilköy, Gelincik, Boltaşlı, Derince, Taşlıca, Avtepe, Adaçay, Yenierenköy, Sipahi, Kuruova, Kaleburnu, Dipkarpaz.

They will be placed on Temporary quarantine for 7 days.

Entry and exit to the villages will be closed to visitors as roads to and from these villages have been closed.

According the announcement made by the government, all residents of these villages will not be allowed to go out of their homes as of 2 pm on Friday for seven days a part of efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Prime Minister Ersin Tatar also said that the measures were taken for precautionary measures.
