Man kidnapped girlfriend in Kyrenia, threatened to kill her for talking with her ex
A man has been arrested and detained in Kyrenia for kidnapping his girlfriend and threatening to kill her because of jealousy.
The suspect only identified as Ç.K, 28 committed the crime on Tuesday, July, 7 in Kyrenia following a disagreement with his girlfriend Ş.B for talking with her ex boyfriend.
He was arrested on Saturday, July, 11 and taken to a court in Kyrenia on charges of “Forced Kidnapping, Violation of Private Life, Threat of Violence, Serious Assault.”
Police officer who testified in court said the suspect on the said date had a dispute with his girlfriend and after the dispute, he took her to Taşkent where he threatened to kill her with a pistol
He then battered his girlfriend by grabbing her arm, throat and hair and dragging her on the floor.
She reported the issue to the police that led to his arrest and a doctor's report was obtained.
The suspect was detained for 3 days for investigation purposes.
