7 students arrested for illegal breaking and entry in Gonyeli

7 people, who were determined to be students in the country, broke into each other by raiding houses in Gönyeli last week. 

The 7 people, including 2 women, identified only as RJYK, 23, MJYK, 22, MOS, 27, HAH, 25, FM, 21, AAMA, 24 and MA, 30 who seriously injured 1 person with iron sticks, were arrested and taken to a court in Lefkosa on charges of 'Opening a House', 'stealing of Property', 'Carrying an Unlawful Knife', in Gönyeli,

Police sergeant Ozan Avcı stated that they entered the residence through the open entrance door and hit Fouad Ahmed with an iron stick, chain and belt, and also beat and kick him, on the grounds that the suspects argued.

The police explained that the suspects then took the unmarked white-colored sunglasses and a money box containing 300 Turkish Liras and opened the closed entrance door of the subject residence.

The police also said that it was learned that there was a knife illegally kept at their disposal.

Police said that those named were arrested by court order, and that the clasp knife and a brown belt that the suspects were carrying during the incident were seized as a sign.

The police stated that the testimony gathered in relation to the issue was that the suspects had committed these crimes in the first place and that the suspects had student status in the TRNC.  

The police stated that there were statements to be taken regarding the issue and camera footage to be provided.

The police demanded that they be detained for 3 days so that the investigation can be carried out safely.
