TRNC and Turkish national assault 17-year-old in Lefkosa

Two 17-year-old suspects arrested on charges of serious damage, obtaining goods with threat, stealing, intentional damage, serious assault and carrying of burglary equipment in Lefkosa will be detained.

The incident happened at about 11:00pm on Sunday, August, 29 at Terminal bus stop in Lefkosia.

Police officer who testified in court regarding the issue, said the suspects demanded money by threatening one E.Ö by saying, "You will give us all the money in your pocket.

The suspects identified only as SS and A.B hit the victim with an iron stick and severely battered him and threw his phone into sweat.

They were arrested after the incident was reported to the police and an investigation was launched against them.

Arriving at the scene, police team found the victim next to the suspects, lying on the ground injured. He was able to point out the suspects and said "they beat me".

The victim was taken to the Lefkosia state hospital and in the examination, it was determined that his left eardrum was ruptured.  

The suspects one a TRNC citizen and the other a Turkish national were also sent to the state hospital for examination, but one of them refused the examination by a doctor.  

They were taken to as court in Lefkosa and detained for 3 days. They were later released on bail with a bond of 200 thousand TL bail and 5 thousand TL cash collateral.
