Two men detained for trying to leave the TRNC with fake PCR test

Two men were held at the airport in North Cyprus on Thursday for trying to leave the country with a fake PCR test.

The two men identified only as A.S and R.D were held and arrested at Ercan airport at around 4:15pm on Thursday, May, 19 while trying to exit the country with fake PCR documents.

They were taken to court on charges of putting forged document into use" and "providing records by false behavior." They were given a 3-day detention order pending police investigation. 

Police said it was determined that one of the tests was dated February 10, 2022 and was organized in the name of Vasyl NEBOHA, but it has not yet been determined who the other test belongs to.

Police said the suspects had met through the application called Telegram and that a person they had not known before came to their house and tested them, and then gave them the test result.
