Two people accused of forging documents to travel to the Netherlands

Two people accused of forging documents to travel to the Netherlands will be tried in court.

The suspects identified only as, MZM and MAK, were arrested and taken to court on Monday on charges of "making forged documents."

Police in a court statement said the suspects used the name of the company located in Lefkosa in which they worked with to go to the Netherlands between August-September 2022.

Police said two other people connected with the incident are currently abroad.

Police said they had obtained a false registration by giving a false document to the Information Office of the German Federation Embassy in the city, and obtained a Dutch visa.

Police said that the complaint was filed on October 13 and that both suspects were arrested as per the court order and that the investigation is continuing.

The police stated that the suspects gave their statements voluntarily and that their voluntary statements should be confirmed and refuted.

The police stated that the statements to be obtained about the issue should be investigated whether there are camera images that will clarify the issue.

The police demanded that the suspects be kept in police custody for 3 more days so that the investigation could be conducted safely, since there were signs and wanted persons regarding the matter and it was highly probable that the suspect would influence the investigation. The lawyers of the suspects objected to the deadline.

Evaluating the testimony given in court, the judge ordered the suspects to be kept in police custody for 2 days for investigation purposes.
