Friend get into trouble for helping his friend with blood donation to process residence permit

His friend was required to donate blood for residence permit but is afraid of doing so, so he decided to help his friend out after all, what are friends for?

A Turkish worker who gave blood on behalf of his friend to process resident permit has been arrested by the police.

A 26-year-old GK was arrested with his friend, SA, 38 on Wednesday and taken to court for donating blood on behalf of his friend because he was "afraid of giving blood".

Police in a statement in court said, SA who needed to donate blood for a residence permit at the Lefkosa State hospital asked his friend, GK  to give it on his behalf because he was afraid of giving blood. When the hospital staff realized the situation, both of them were arrested.

Police said GK created a fake record by presenting his identity card in the name of his friend SA.

They were arrested on the same day in pursuant to a pending order obtained from the Lefkosia District Court.

Three blood collection tubes with barcodes belonging to SA were confiscated as evidence.

Police stated that the suspects voluntarily gave their statements on the same day.

Suspect SA said that he had to give blood to get a residence permit, but he was afraid of giving blood and if he gave blood, he would have health problems, so he asked his friend to give blood on his behalf.

The police said that the other suspect GK confirmed this in his statement.

The police stated that the investigation was completed and demanded that the suspect SA, who has tourist status, be put under arrest and the suspect GK, who has a work permit, be released on bail.

Evaluating the testimony given in court, the judge ordered that the suspect be held in prison for a period not exceeding one month.

GK was released on bail and banned from going abroad, report to the police once a week, present 1 credible TRNC citizen to sign a personal surety bond worth 150,000TL and deposit 3,000 TL in cash.
