Illegal resident sent to prison for calling member of parliament unprintable names in traffic

A 42-year-old man who called a TRNC member of parliament "dishonest, immoral ..." during a traffic incident in Lefkosa has been arrested by the police.

The 42-year-old identified only as AK, a Turkish national was arrested and taken to court on Wednesday, December, 14 on charges of Discomfort, and use of fowl Language."

It was also discovered that he has been living in the TRNC without a resident permit. 

The suspect had called DP Deputy Hasan Tosunoğlu "dishonest and immoral ..." after the deputy posted the problem he experienced in traffic at the weekend.

Recounting the incident in court, police officer Nevzat Gün said that the suspect on Saturday, December, 10 in Lefkosia - Ortaköy, called DP Deputy Tosunoğlu "dishonorable immoral ...." during a traffic issue.

Police said that as a result of the investigation, it was determined that AK was without a residence permit in the north of Cyprus.

The police said that the investigation was completed at this stage and demanded that the suspect be sent to the central prison for 20 days so that he could be present in the case in the future.
