Earthquake shakes areas around Cyprus on Sunday morning

An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter Scale shook the southeast of Cyprus on Sunday morning.

According to report, the earthquake happened at around 8.06am off the Greko Cape, south Cyprus on Sunday.

According to the Euro-Mediterranean Institute, the magnitude of the earthquake was around 3.6 on the Richter scale, and was located 12 kilometers east of Famagusta.

According to the TRNC Department of Meteorology's Seismology Service, a slight earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 according to the Richter Scale was recorded at a distance of approximately 74 km from the Lefkosa Earthquake Station of the Department.

It was stated that as a result of the first evaluation, the epicenter of the earthquake was determined to be at 35.02 North and 34.14 East coordinates, at a depth of 7 km, in the Southeast of Cyprus – Off the Greko Cape.
