Tourist stole money from wallet he found in a toilet, caught 2 months later at Ercan airport

A court in north Cyprus has detained a man for stealing money from a wallet he found in a petrol station toilet.

The suspect named only as OK who is a tourist in the TRNC, on May, 14 stole 1,900TL from a wallet he found in the toilet of a fuel station operating in Demirhan.

He was arrested on Wednesday at Ercan airport with a pending court order while leaving the country.

Police said investigation initiated against the suspect has been completed and demaded that the court secure him for his trial in the future.

Evaluating the testimony given in court, the judge ordered the suspect to be detained in prison for a period not exceeding 20 days in order to be present at his trial.
