Man head-butts another in Lefkosa for talking to his wife

A man will face trial in court for assaulting a man in a parking lot in Lefkosa because he was friends with his wife.

The suspect named only as SH at around 7:45am on Wednesday insulted an head-butted a man named only as ME in a parking lot in Köşklüçiftlik area of ​​Lefkosa because he was trying to speak with his wife.

He was arrested and taken to court on Thursday on charges of assault.

Police told the court that the suspect went to meet the victim who was speaking with his wife who is his friend when he insulted and head-butted him in the face causing the victim serious bodily harm and a broken tooth.

Police stated that upon complaint, the suspect was arrested on the same day, and the victim was examined by a doctor at the Lefkosia State Hospital and a report was obtained.

Police said that 3 statements were taken regarding the incident and camera footage was obtained.

Noting that the part of the investigation that could influence the suspect has been completed, the police requested that the suspect be released on bail.

The judge released the suspect on bail on the condition that the suspect pays a cash guarantee of 15,000 TL and bring two guarantors sign to sing a surety bond of 200,000 TL each.
