Nigerian seriously injured after jumping out of police vehicle in Iskele

A Nigerian student who was arrested for illegal residency and being taken to the police station is currently in intensive care unit after jumping out of a moving police vehicle in Iskele.

The incident happened in Iskele around 5:00pm on Tuesday, Nov., 7.

Police in a statement said the suspect, a 37-year-old man named only as DNA was identified and arrested in Iskele for not having documents.

He was put in the back seat of a vehicle and been transferred to the police when he opened the backdoor of the vehicle and jumped out.

He was seriously injured as a result of the jump. He was taken to the intensive care unit of the Famagusta State Hospital.

It was discovered that he fractured his skull and had brain hemorrhage.

The police are investigating the incident.
