Price of bread increased in the TRNC

Following the hike in the price of tobacco products in the TRNC, the price of Ekmek bread was also increased by 2 TL.

The price of Ekmek 200 grams bread loaf widely eaten in the TRNC which was sold for 10 TL has been increased by 2TL to 12TL.

The new development is coming after the increase in electricity, domestic gas and tobacco.

The TRNC Bakers' Union president, Ömer Çıralı stated that all expenses had increased adding that they had to reflect the price.

"We had to make an increase out of necessity, we wouldn't want to do it if we didn't have to, said Ömer Çıralı, adding that the new price had been valid in Karpaz and Famagusta since last week and in other regions on Tuesday.
