Russian national murdered in Kyrenia, 3 Ukrainians arrested

A Russian national who was found dead in a photo studio located in Kyrenia on Tuesday was found to have been murdered.

Mikhail Kamyshanov, 40, a Russian national and a resident of the TRNC was found dead in a photo studio named İmaj Photo Studio, located on Uğur Mumcu Boulevard in Kyrenia. Police said the studio was under renovation.

Three Ukrainian nationals named SM, his wife KK and their accomplice AV, who worked with Mikhail Kamyshanov, were arrested regarding the incident.

The suspects were brought to court and a 3-day detention order was issued against them. 

Police said that Mikhail Kamyshanov who works in the studio was found dead at around 5:00pm on Monday evening.

Police announced that the autopsy carried out on Mikhail Kamyshanov determined that he was killed by strangulation.

Police said that as a result of the investigation into the incident, the camera footage was examined and SM, his wife KK and their accomplice AV were arrested as suspects.

Police stated that the suspect named SM was in the shop on the day of the incident, and then the suspect named AV went to the scene, closed the door, killed Mikhail Kamyshanov, then jumped out of the window and ran away.

The police also stated that they examined the camera footage of the workplace and the surrounding area, and that Mikhail Kamyshanov was seen entering the photography studio with a bag, but they could not find the bag in question as a result of the searches.

The police also stated that they detected messages between KK, who was arrested regarding the incident, and his wife SM.

Noting that the investigation continues in many aspects, the police requested that the suspects be detained for 3 days.
