Wednesday is public holiday as TRNC mark it's 40th anniversary

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will be 40 on Wednesday, November, 15.

The 40th anniversary of the establishment of the TRNC will be celebrated with ceremonies and events across the country starting from Tuesday, Nov., 14. 

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus proclaimed on November 15, 1983, which is also a national holiday.

The ceremonies will start on Tuesday, November 14th with a speech by President Ersin Tatar at noon on BRT followed by a 21-gun salute.

Ceremonies will be held at the Dr. Fazıl Küçük Mausoleum at 3.00pm and Rauf Raif Denktaş Mausoleum at 3.30pm.

On the same day, the 40th anniversary Republic Cortege will also be held.

On Wednesday November 15, a ceremony will be held at the Martyrs’ Monument in Lefkoşa at 8.00am.

President Ersin Tatar will receive well wishers at the Presidency at 9.00am.

The ceremony at the Lefkoşa Atatürk Monument will take place at 9.30am and the parade on Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard, the heart of the celebrations, will take place at 10.00am.

Within the framework of the celebrations, the opening of the Cyprus Turkish Cypriot History, Culture and National Struggle Museum organized at the Mucahitler Sitesi will also be realized.

In the evening, a Republic Day reception will be held at the Presidency.

Ceremonies will be held in all districts.

This year, as every year, TRNC Motherland, Türkiye, sister country Azerbaijan and high-ranking officials from many countries will take part in the celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the TRNC.
