Flights to and from Ercan Airport delayed for over 2 hours due to electricity problem

Flights to and from Ercan Airport in North Cyprus were suspended for more than two hours on Monday morning due to power failure.

According to report, the power failure was due to electrical fault at the airport which affected 6 flights.

Activities at Ercan Airport was closed to air traffic for approximately 2 hours, 50 minutes on Monday morning, when the generator related to the meteorological systems that show the weather condition could not be activated due to electrical failure.

For this reason, 6 aircraft, 4 of which were to take off and 2 to land, were affected by the stopped air traffic. A plane coming from Istanbul had to land in Adana, Turkiye.

The malfunction was later resolved and flights resumed.
