Three Moroccan nationals who had enough drink and got into a fight detained by the police in north Cyprus

Three Moroccan nationals who had enough to drink got into a fight that left one of them injured in Lefkosia, north Cyprus.

The three men involved in the fight, ZZ, AB and REA were arrested by Turkish Cypriot police on Tuesday and taken to court on Wednesday on charges of causing injuries, battery, serious damage and drunkenness.

Police in a court statement said the incident happened between the hours of 5:30 to 6:30am on Thursday, Nov., 30 on Huzur Street in Lefkosia following an argument between the three.

During the argument, ZZ took the skewers in his hands and waved them towards AB and REA, hitting REA's back and causing injury.

AB and REA also severely beat Zemrag by hitting him in the face and causing serious damage.

ZZ went to the hospital after the incident and that he was initially the complainant while AB and REA who were declared wanted persons, were identified and arrested the on Tuesday, Dec., 5.

ZZ who is the complaint, was also arrested and an investigation was launched against the 3 suspects.

Police said that AB and REA stated in their statements that they met ZZ on the day of the incident, they ate together and chatted, but after drinking alcohol, the atmosphere became tense, a fight broke out, and they mutually hit each other.

The police stated that the investigation was continuing and that there was camera footage to be examined, and asked for 2 days.
