TRNC will not stop selling properties to foreigners - TRNC Minister of Foreign Affairs

The TRNC Minister of Foreign Affairs has hit back at opposition figures claiming that the TRNC cannot be a country that prohibits the sale of goods to foreigners and that he does not favor this understanding stating that buildings can be sold to foreigners, but not lands.

Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu made the statements during a TV program on Kıbrıs Postası TV this week.

Evaluating the issue of property sales to foreigners, Ertuğruloğlu said, “This is a serious problem. But in my opinion, it was not brought up in the right way. There were some who perceived the solution to the problem as 'banning the sale of goods to foreigners'. "I have never favored this understanding," he said.

He went on to state that the TRNC cannot be a country that prohibits the sale of goods to foreigners and said, "Buildings can be sold, but lands should not be sold."
