Two die in terrible accident on the Iskele-Famagusta high way

Two people died in a fatal collision that occurred on the Iskele-Famagusta main road on Friday evening.

The accident happened at around 5:00pm on Friday after a pickup truck ran into the back of a truck.

Police in a report stated that one İbrahim Kubacık, 34 was driving on the Iskele-Famagusta high way near a restaurant called Kel'in Yeri when he carelessly enter the road without looking and in the process hit a jeep driven by one Ali Kaplan, 24 who was also driving carelessly with speed.

23-year-old Fikret Turşu and 20-year-old Tuğçe Direm Çelik who were passengers in the jeep died in the accident.
 

Ali Kaplan, who was slightly injured in the accident was taken to the Famagusta State Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the truck İbrahim KUBACIK, was arrested and the investigation continues.

Meanwhile, the police have warned of heavy rainfall which will affect visibility and reminded drivers to take care while on the roads.
