Housekeeper from Nepal steals €48,000 from elderly man under her care in south Cyprus

A 37-year-old housekeeper from Nepal is wanted by police in south Cyprus after running away with €48,000 stolen from an 83-year-old man under her care.

The incident happened in a village in Paphos, south Cyprus this week.

The elderly man reported the incident to the police on Wednesday saying the woman left her place of residence and work and that a box with 48,000 euros he kept in his cupboard is gone.

Police believe the 37-year-old woman has probably already left Cyprus.

However, investigations by Paphos CID are ongoing.
